Professional iPad Repair Services

Cheap Mobile Repair has been fixing iPads across Sydney since 2015. Tablets are not simply large phones — the screen is bonded to a thin aluminium frame, the battery is glued flat across the case, and a careless repair bends the housing so the display never sits properly again. That is why iPad repair is its own discipline in our workshops.

Every repair starts with a free diagnosis and a fixed quote. Nothing is opened until you have approved the price, and if you decide not to go ahead you take the iPad away at no cost. Common screen repairs generally take 40–60 minutes when the correct part is available, we confirm the timeframe after diagnosis, and everything we do carries a six-month warranty on parts and workmanship.

We also work at board level, which matters more on iPads than most people expect. A tablet that will not charge or will not power on is often a component fault rather than a dead device, and those are repairs many shops simply refuse.

iPad Battery Replacement

Our full iPad battery replacement service covers every model. An iPad battery is a consumable. After three or four years most hold noticeably less charge, and eventually the tablet starts shutting down with charge still showing or refusing to run unless it is plugged in.

Replacing one is delicate work. Apple glues the battery flat to the inside of the case, so it has to be released with heat and patience rather than levered out. Rushing that step is how a cell gets punctured. Signs you need a new one: charge dropping far faster than it used to, the iPad only running on the charger, long charging times, running hot, or a case that has started to lift or bulge.

A swollen iPad battery deserves urgency. The pressure pushes the screen away from the frame and can crack it from the inside. Stop charging it and bring it in.

iPad Charging Port Repair

Charging faults are the most common iPad problem we see after cracked screens, and our iPad charging port repair service covers cleaning through to board-level replacement, and the good news is that the port itself is usually not the culprit. Pocket lint and dust compact into the bottom of the connector over years of use, and a proper clean often restores charging completely.

Where the port is genuinely damaged — bent pins, a cable that only works at one angle, or a connector loosened by a fall while plugged in — it is soldered to the logic board on most iPads. Replacing it is board-level work with a microscope, not a plug-in part swap. We do that in house.

Bring the charger and cable with you. A surprising number of “charging port” faults turn out to be a failed cable, and we would rather find that out in two minutes than charge you for a repair you never needed.

iPad Camera Repair

Blurry photos, a black camera app, a front camera that fails during video calls, or the flash refusing to fire — all repairable, and all worth diagnosing before assuming the worst.

On many iPads the rear camera glass cracks while the camera module behind it is perfectly fine, so the repair is far smaller than it looks. Front cameras are more often a cable or connector issue, particularly after a drop or a previous screen repair done badly elsewhere. We test both cameras, the flash and Face ID where fitted before handing the tablet back.

iPad Water Damage Repair

Our iPad water damage repair service works at board level. Liquid does not usually kill an iPad outright. Corrosion does, and it starts within minutes and keeps spreading while the tablet stays wet and powered. If you have spilt something, power it off properly, do not plug it in, and bring it in as soon as you can. Rice does nothing.

Our process is board level: the iPad is opened, the battery disconnected so nothing is live, and the board inspected under a microscope to trace where the liquid travelled. Residue is cleaned off chemically rather than wiped, corroded components are dealt with individually, and the tablet is tested in stages rather than reassembled and hoped for.

We are upfront about two things. Liquid damaged devices carry no repair warranty, because corrosion can resurface weeks later. And an iPad that seems fine after a spill is still worth checking, since the damage often surfaces later.

iPad Motherboard Repair

Our iPad motherboard repair service handles the faults other shops refuse. When an iPad will not power on, shows no image, restarts in a loop or is not recognised by a computer, the fault is usually on the logic board. Most repair shops stop here and tell you the tablet is finished. We do not.

Board-level repair means working under a microscope on individual components — power circuits, charging ICs, backlight circuits, connectors lifted by a fall. It is slower and more skilled than swapping a part, and it is the reason iPads written off elsewhere are routine work for us. If a board genuinely cannot be saved we will tell you plainly rather than run up a bill.

iPad Software Repair

Not every fault is hardware, and iPad software repair is usually the cheapest thing that can go wrong. An iPad stuck on the Apple logo, caught in a restart loop, frozen in recovery mode, refusing an update, or crawling to the point of being unusable is often a software problem — and that is a much cheaper fix.

We diagnose software and hardware separately for exactly this reason. Restoring an iPad, repairing a failed update or clearing a corrupted system does not require opening the tablet at all. Where the underlying cause turns out to be failing storage, we will say so, and your data is the first thing we protect.

iPad Data Recovery

Our iPad data recovery service works at board level. Photos, notes, schoolwork and years of documents live on these devices, and often nowhere else. If your iPad will not start, has been dropped, or has been through a spill, the data inside is frequently still intact — the tablet simply cannot reach it.

Recovering it means repairing the board far enough to read the storage, because iPad storage is soldered in place and encrypted to that specific device. It cannot be lifted out and read in another machine. That is board-level work, which is what we do.
