Visited them to fix 2 phones. The manager I met today was super friendly and they dud a great job at reasonable price.(Year ago)Just went to the shop for repair for rear camera cover crash for my Galaxy S6. Staff were all friendly and quick to respond.I picked it up by on-site repair, while I went shopping at the Westfield.I have not compared the pricing and servicing from other nearby repair shops, but I am happy with the end result and pricing.

Modern iPhone faults we diagnose and repair

Newer iPhones fail in different ways to older models. These are the faults we see most often at Burwood and Newtown, and how we approach each one. Every job starts with a free diagnosis so you are quoted for the actual fault, not a guess.

Why does my iPhone screen show green lines or flicker?

A green tint, vertical or horizontal lines, or flickering after a drop usually points to a damaged OLED panel or display connector. Occasionally the cause is on the logic board, so we test the phone with a known-good display before quoting a screen replacement.

Why is my iPhone screen black even though the phone still rings?

If your iPhone vibrates, rings or shows up on a computer but the screen stays black, the display has usually failed while the phone underneath is fine. A screen replacement normally brings it back with your data intact.

Why is my iPhone touch screen not responding or tapping by itself?

Touch that stops working in patches, or taps that happen on their own, is almost always the digitiser layer of the screen. We confirm it is not a software or connector issue first, then replace the display.

Why will my iPhone not charge through USB-C or Lightning?

iPhone 15, 16 and 17 models charge through USB-C; iPhone 14 and earlier use Lightning. Debris, a worn connector, a bent pin or a faulty charging IC can all stop charging. We clean and test the port first, then replace it or repair the board as needed. See charging-port repair.

Why does my iPhone battery drain quickly, shut down or overheat?

A battery that drains quickly, shuts the phone down at 20–30% or runs hot is replaced with a tested battery. If the phone overheats while charging or idle, we also check the charging circuit before recommending a battery.

Why can nobody hear me, or why is my iPhone speaker muffled?

Muffled calls, no sound on speaker, or callers not hearing you are usually a blocked or failed speaker, microphone or earpiece module, all of which we replace.

Does my iPhone need board-level or micro-soldering repair?

No power, no backlight, no charging or no signal after other repairs have failed can be board-level faults. Our technicians carry out micro-soldering and component-level repairs in-house rather than replacing the whole phone. See board repair and data recovery.

iPhone repair services in Sydney: what we fix

Cheap Mobile Repair repairs every current iPhone model at its Burwood and Newtown repair centres, with pickup and delivery available for Parramatta customers. Each repair starts with a diagnosis and an upfront quote you approve before work begins.

Can I get my cracked or unresponsive iPhone screen replaced?

Yes, we replace cracked, black, flickering and unresponsive iPhone screens at Burwood and Newtown. Many screen replacements can be completed the same day when the correct display for your model is in stock; we confirm turnaround when we quote. Choose your model from the menu above for model-specific detail.

Can I replace an iPhone battery that drains quickly or shows a service warning?

Yes. If your iPhone drains quickly, shuts down unexpectedly or shows a service message for the battery, we replace the battery at Burwood and Newtown. We first check whether the fault is the battery, the charger or the charging port, then give you an upfront quote. Stop using and charging an iPhone with a swollen battery.

Can an iPhone charging port that works intermittently be repaired?

Yes. An iPhone that will not charge or connects intermittently may have debris in the port, a worn Lightning or USB-C connector, a faulty cable or a board-level charging fault. We diagnose the cause at Burwood and Newtown before recommending a port replacement or board repair, and quote before any work. Charging-port repair in Burwood has its own page.

What should I do if my iPhone has liquid damage?

We inspect liquid-damaged iPhones at Burwood and Newtown before confirming whether the phone can be repaired or its data recovered, and quote before any work. If your iPhone has been in water, switch it off, do not charge it and bring it in as soon as you can. More detail: water damage repair for phones and laptops.

Can a blurry, shaking or broken iPhone camera be repaired?

Yes. We repair front and rear iPhone cameras with blurry images, black previews, shaking focus or a cracked lens at Burwood and Newtown. We test the camera before and after the repair and quote after diagnosis. Full detail on symptoms and the repair process is on our phone camera repair Sydney page.

Can Face ID be repaired after a drop, screen repair or liquid damage?

Face ID that stops working after a drop, a screen replacement elsewhere or liquid exposure is diagnosed at Burwood and Newtown. Some Face ID faults are repairable and some are not, so we confirm what is possible for your model before quoting. See iPhone Face ID repair Sydney.

Can cracked iPhone back glass be replaced?

Yes. We replace cracked or shattered iPhone back glass at Burwood and Newtown. The part and method depend on the model, so we confirm the option and give you an upfront quote after inspecting the phone.

Why will my iPhone not turn on?

An iPhone that will not turn on may have a flat or failed battery, a charging fault, a damaged screen that is hiding a working phone, or a board-level fault. We diagnose the cause at Burwood and Newtown before recommending anything, and quote before any repair.

Can data be recovered from a damaged iPhone?

We assess data recovery for iPhones that will not start or have been damaged, at Burwood and Newtown. Success depends on the model, the fault and the state of the storage, so we cannot guarantee recovery before diagnosis; we explain the options and any cost before starting. See mobile phone data recovery.

Eligible iPhone repairs include a six-month warranty covering our workmanship and faults in the replacement part we supplied. Every repair starts with a diagnosis and an upfront quote that you approve before work begins. Physical damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are not covered. Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide any guarantee for your mobile phone repair service?

Yes! We provide a warranty of six months for all iPhone repairs in Sydney. All our repairs are guaranteed for 6 months for parts and screen replacements. This covers all the components of the iPhone that we replace. We replace worn out and dysfunctional parts with quality OEM components. However, under no circumstances, physical damage will be covered under warranty.

Confirm at the time of your quote that the proposed iPhone repair qualifies for the six-month warranty, and ask about exclusions, parts coverage and workmanship coverage before approving the work. Keep your receipt and warranty information.

How long will it take to repair my iPhone if I come to the store?

Most iPhone screen replacements take about 30–45 minutes when the display for your model is in stock, and many battery and charging-port repairs are also finished the same day. Repairs that need a part ordered in, a liquid-damage assessment or board-level work can take two to three days. We confirm the expected time with your upfront quote.

Do you use original parts for iPhone screen repairs in Sydney?

We use both genuine and OEM parts to replace worn out or damaged iPhone screens. OEM parts are the authentic manufacturer’s product that made your mobile phone, which means it is the real deal, not a copycat. Replacing your iPhone parts with OEM components gives you manufacturer’s warranty, the quality, and the performance is greater than the generic brands.

Ask us which part type is proposed for your repair, whether it is in stock for your model, and what warranty applies before approving the work, so the recommendation and quote are confirmed for your specific device.

I tried to fix my iPhone on my own and have it semi unassembled. Can I send it to you and have you finish the repair?

Yes. Bring the phone and any parts or screws you removed to Burwood or Newtown. We check what has been done, test the phone and give you an upfront quote to finish the repair. This applies to current models and older supported iPhones alike.

Do you need my SIM card for iPhone repairs in Sydney?

Nope, we do not want you to send your SIM card for iPhone repairs in Sydney as we have our own SIM cards to test the phone. But, we do request you to give your passcode as it hinders our ability to test all the functions of the device.

Will Apple help repair my iphone?

iphones come with a warranty period, and if your iphone is still under the warranty period, you may probably get your iphone fixed free of cost or can even help with replacement if your request is genuine. But if it does not stick to their policies, then it is chargeable, at times you might have to encounter the shipping cost too. Our experts trained in iphone repair Sydney, can help you get your iphone repaired at a quick turnaround time.

How much does an iPhone screen repair cost in Sydney?

The price depends on the model and the screen option you choose – a current Pro Max OLED costs more than an older LCD model. We give you an exact price after checking the phone, and each model page shows what applies to that device. Choose your iPhone model at the top of this page or request a quote for a price before you visit.

Can I get my iPhone screen repaired the same day?

Yes. Most iPhone screen replacements are done while you wait, in about 30–45 minutes, when the display for your model is in stock at Burwood or Newtown. If you want to be sure the part is on the shelf before you come in, call 02 9747 8880.

Do I need an appointment for an iPhone screen repair?

No. Walk-ins are welcome at both Sydney stores during opening hours. You can also book online or call ahead so the part is ready when you arrive.

Which iPhone models does Cheap Mobile Repair repair?

All current models – the iPhone 17, 16, 15 and 14 families – as well as iPhone 13, 12, 11, XS, XR, X, 8 and SE. Each model has its own page with model-specific repair information; use the model menu at the top of this page.

Where are Cheap Mobile Repair's Sydney stores?

Burwood: 10 Burwood Road, Burwood NSW 2134, 02 9747 8880. Newtown: Shop 1A, 2 Enmore Road, Newtown NSW 2042, 02 8970 0947. Parramatta customers can use pickup and delivery. Opening hours for each store are listed at the bottom of this page.

What replacement screen options are available?

For many models we can offer more than one screen option at different prices, such as a standard replacement display or a higher-grade OLED panel. We explain what is available for your model, how it compares and the warranty that applies before you approve the repair.

Will replacing my iPhone screen erase my data?

No. A screen replacement does not touch the phone’s storage, so your photos, apps and settings stay as they are. We still recommend an iCloud or computer backup before any repair, as we do for every device.

What should I do if my iPhone screen turns green, black or shows vertical lines?

Stop pressing on the screen and bring the phone in. These symptoms usually mean the display panel or its connector has been damaged, and in most cases a screen replacement fixes it. We test with a known-good display first so you are not quoted for a screen if the fault is on the board.

Can a damaged iPhone USB-C charging port be repaired?

Yes. iPhone 15, 16 and 17 models use USB-C, and we clean, replace or board-repair the port depending on what the diagnosis shows. iPhone 14 and earlier Lightning ports are repaired the same way.

Will an iPhone repair affect Face ID?

Some front-camera and sensor components are closely linked to Face ID. Ask the technician whether the proposed repair involves those components and what post-repair testing will be completed. Rear repairs such as many screen, battery, charging-port and camera repairs involve different components, but the effect depends on the exact model and repair.

What happens before my iPhone repair?

First, provide the exact iPhone model and describe the fault, including any drop or liquid exposure. The device is then assessed and relevant functions are tested. Cheap Mobile Repair explains the recommended repair and provides an upfront quote before approved work begins. Repair proceeds only after you approve the quoted option, followed by post-repair testing where applicable.

What screen options are there for iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max screen replacement?

Cheap Mobile Repair offers up to four screen grades for the iPhone 17 family, depending on stock: incell (LCD), hard OLED, soft OLED, and genuine or refurbished Apple OLED. All iPhone 17 models have a 120Hz ProMotion OLED display, so the grade you choose changes what you get back. Incell LCD is the cheapest but runs at 60Hz, is dimmer, slightly thicker and uses more battery. Hard OLED gives OLED colour and brightness but sits on a rigid glass layer that cracks more easily at the edges. Soft OLED is flexible like the original panel and is the closest aftermarket match. Genuine or refurbished Apple panels restore the original display fully. Every grade is covered by our six-month warranty. Model pages: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max.

What is the difference between hard OLED, soft OLED and incell screens for an iPhone 16 or iPhone 17?

Incell (LCD) screens use a backlit LCD panel instead of OLED: they are the lowest-cost option, blacks look grey rather than true black, brightness is lower, the refresh rate is 60Hz and battery use is higher. Hard OLED screens are real OLED panels built on a rigid glass substrate: colour, contrast and brightness are close to original, but the panel is less flexible so it is more likely to crack from a drop on the edge. Soft OLED screens are built on a flexible substrate like Apple’s own panel: they are the most durable and most accurate aftermarket option and support the original display features. Genuine or refurbished Apple screens are the original part. We explain which grades are in stock for your model when we quote, and you choose.

Which replacement screen is best for an iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max?

For the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max we recommend a soft OLED or a genuine or refurbished Apple panel, because both models use a 120Hz ProMotion OLED display and those grades keep the 120Hz refresh rate, brightness and always-on display. An incell screen will work and costs less, but it runs at 60Hz and looks noticeably different on a Pro model. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus use a 60Hz OLED, so the difference between grades is smaller on those models. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max take different screens and are not interchangeable: see iPhone 16 Pro screen repair and iPhone 16 Pro Max screen repair.

If a non-genuine screen or battery is fitted, iOS shows an “Unknown Part” notice in Settings for a period and may not display battery-health data for a third-party battery. This is Apple’s parts notice, not a fault: the phone, touch, Face ID and charging all work normally. We always transfer True Tone from your original display to the new screen as part of every screen replacement, so the display keeps adjusting to the light around you. Face ID is not affected by a screen replacement because we transfer your original front sensor assembly to the new screen. A genuine or refurbished Apple panel avoids the notice on most models.

Can you replace the back glass on an iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Yes. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have an aluminium unibody with a smaller Ceramic Shield glass window on the back, and we replace that rear glass at Burwood and Newtown. The standard iPhone 17 and 17e have a full glass back, which is replaced as a complete panel. Because the parts and method differ between models, we inspect the phone and give you an upfront quote before any work, and the repair is covered by our six-month warranty.

Can you replace the back glass on an iPhone 16, 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max?

Yes. All iPhone 16 models have a full glass back. The cracked glass is removed with a laser so the frame, cameras and wireless charging coil are not damaged, then a new rear glass panel is fitted and sealed. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max use different-sized panels from the 16 and 16 Plus, so we confirm your exact model when quoting. Most back-glass jobs are quoted after inspection, and the repair carries our six-month warranty.

When does an iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro Max need a battery replacement, and what does it involve?

Replace the battery when Settings shows Maximum Capacity around 80% or lower, when the phone shuts down unexpectedly, drains quickly or runs hot, or when iOS shows a battery service message. We open the phone, fit a new tested battery, seal it and test charging and power. On iPhone 17 models a third-party battery triggers an “Unknown Part” notice and iOS may not report the battery-health percentage; the battery still works normally. Your data is not affected. Model pages: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Do you replace batteries in the iPhone 16, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max?

Yes. We replace batteries in every iPhone 16 model at Burwood and Newtown. Signs you need one: Maximum Capacity around 80% or below in Settings, unexpected shutdowns, fast drain or overheating. We check whether the fault is the battery, the charger or the charging port first, then fit a new tested battery and cover it with our six-month warranty. Expect an “Unknown Part” notice in Settings with a non-genuine battery; the phone and battery work normally. See iPhone 16 Pro Max repair or iPhone 16 Pro repair.

Does a hard OLED or soft OLED screen last longer on an iPhone 16 or 17?

Soft OLED lasts longer. Its flexible substrate absorbs edge impacts the way the original Apple panel does, while a hard OLED panel is more likely to crack at the corners from the same drop. Both are real OLED and both are covered by our six-month warranty against defects, but the warranty does not cover physical damage, so if you drop your phone often the soft OLED or a genuine panel is the better choice. A tempered-glass protector helps with either grade.
