Three things move the price. First, the model — larger and newer assemblies cost more, so a 15-inch M3 sits above an M1 13-inch. Second, whether the fault is limited to the display or has also affected the cable or board, which the free diagnosis establishes before you are quoted. Third, parts grade: we will explain the options and what each one means for colour accuracy and brightness rather than deciding for you.
It is also worth weighing the repair against replacing the machine. A new MacBook Air starts well above a thousand dollars, and a screen replacement is a fraction of that. If the rest of your Air runs well — and after a crack it usually does — repairing is comfortably the cheaper decision. Is there a warranty?
Six months on parts and workmanship. Screens are covered provided there is no new physical damage. A third-party repair does void any remaining Apple warranty, so if your Air is still under AppleCare, go to Apple first — we will tell you that ourselves.
Can you repair the LCD only?
On older non-Retina models the panel can sometimes be replaced on its own. On Retina and Apple silicon models the display is a sealed assembly, so a MacBook Air LCD replacement means the whole unit. We will confirm which applies to your machine during the free diagnosis.
